Gibbes Exhibition: Art of John Westmark
One of the perks of photographing events for our local Gibbes museum is meeting the artists and witnessing them sharing their stories and gifts. John Westmark’s ‘Double Bind Series’ encompass’ the whole feminine spirit; bold, bright, movement, stillness, grace and strength. The pieces are large with up close surprises.
Gibbes Event: Street Party
If you like to eat, the Gibbes Museum Street party is your party. Keeping with the theme of East Meets West, the event incorporated belly dancing, henna body art, an open bar, more than 15 of your favorite restaurants and desserts galore in the middle of downtown Charleston.
Design as Art
In March of 2014 the Women’s Council of the Gibbes Museum hosted Charlotte Moss for the Art of Design lecture and luncheon benefiting the museum. Ms Moss, author of A Visual Life: Scrapbooks, Collages, and Inspiration, sparks the senses to be present to see the beauty that surrounds us.
