Blogged: Neutral, Modern & Fun!

Take a look at Nicole and Michael’s celebration on Palmetto State Weddings. And maybe turn on your favorite tunes as you view. These guys love of music was threaded through the day. Thanks to Engaging Events for matching us with these two! It was a love match:)

I wanted to combine rustic with classic. The carriage house was the perfect place to do this. I loved the colors green, white, and gold, trying to keep it simple but also chic at the same time. - Nicole, bride

How Mother/Daughter agreed on MCG Photography

We are always curious how clients find us. Julie (aka. Abby’s mom) shared that she made a list of photographers for Abby to pick from for her senior portraits. Abby looked through the websites and went with us. She selected Folly Beach as her location and crafted her look with two different outfits.

I had asked Julie (mom) for some Abby traits to get a sense of her and her mom’s eye view. “One of Abby’s best qualities is she tells you how it is…. no matter what, and she truly has a heart of gold!” Abby’s confidence, composure and warmth definitely illustrated her mom’s description.

We would love the opportunity to photograph your senior, tween or teen and discover their uniqueness!

It is Raining Christmas, Holiday and New Years Cards!

I get absurdly happy when I see our images on our clients cards. We are the lame ducks that never have our act together for the card exchange, so I admire everyone that does have a card system. So while we may not send the cards, we still are a part of the card giving goodness. These are some of our favorites that came our way this year. Thank you for sharing!!! For everyone else that used an ‘mcg’ image this year, please send us a snapshot!

Visiting Artist at the Gibbes

Documenting events for the Gibbes Museum consistently introduces us to talented artist. The four walls of the studio are the same, but each artist fills and makes the space their own for their month stay. You get to see their completed works, their works in process, their tools and ask questions. Some artist have collaborative art and invite you to participate. If you look at art and have questions about process, medium and inspiration; keep your eye on the artist schedule.

Feeling Fall

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”― Jim Bishop

In Charleston, we have lots of warm days and humid hot days. So cool, fall portraits make us a giddy. Sweaters, vest, boots and make for excellent photos. This is a great example of our family tree session. Focusing on the whole, individual units, different generations and of course the smile makers, kiddos.
