Swim. Bike. Run: Kiawah Island

Out of the blue and to my surprise, James decided to explore an Olympic sized triathlon.

After 6 months of training, James completed his first International - Olympic sized triathlon (featuring a .7-mile swim, 25.1-mile bike and 6.1-mile) September 15th on Kiawah Island.

Biking is probably his most comfortable area. When studying abroad, he and his friends biked through France. And the running, he just kept chipping and chipping away. He took swim lessons with our local, Kathleen Wilson. Kathleen is the first South Carolina resident to swim the English Channel (in 2001) and is also a classical harpist that we know through weddings. She set him up for success in the ocean-swim department.

Stroke by stroke, pedal by pedal and step by step he achieved his goal.
