North Charleston Riverfront Park : fall portrait

Portrait sessions at the North Charleston Riverfront Park offer so many backgrounds, colors and textures depending on the season, time of day and if there is a park event. We photographed this couples’ wedding three kiddos ago. It was such a pleasure to catch up with them in this current chapter.

For this session, we jumped into combos of a family unit of 5, adding gram and celebrating gram’s milestone birthday. We documented the relationships through story-telling images of sisters holding their baby brother and walking hand in hand with gram. The time stamp images portrayed the kiddos age with classic portraits and candid poses. My favorite aspects might be that the girls and gram have a similar hand of the hip stance.

We lucked out and had the fountain all to ourselves. It was too chilly to run through the splash pad, but just perfect for a visual movement and that freedom feel of childhood.

Finally, I love the color orange. It is that sporty, happy color. Gram pops while still blending with the fall theme while contrasting with the lighter, textured backgrounds.

Three generations standing together hold the past, the present, and the future at once, each adding something the others cannot." — Author Unknown
