Where : To set the stage, Katie and Allen, said their I do’s at the Daniel Island Club which is surrounded by marsh and golf course. Sara Cavallon of Something to Celebrate managed to weave in all the elements from color to croquet while keeping the mood relaxed and fun.
The Look : The bridesmaids are dressed in happy yellow seersucker dresses and the groomsmen are complete in light green suits with seersucker, grapefruit bow ties. Branch’s floral design incorporated pinks, oranges, corals, yellows and grapefruit. Each bouquet had initials monogrammed on a burlap wrap. I could not have envisioned this kind of soft and pretty, but it was the perfect compliment to the sweet bride, Katie.
A Southern Touch : The sweetgrass fans were available during the ceremony to keep the guest cool and as a favor. So, if you are not feeling the Southern yet, there is more. The bride said yes to a flower in her hair. They said yes to watermelon served during cocktail hour. Groom and his mom opted for the shag as their mother/son dance. The bridal party convened for croquet on the lawn and the boardwalk for photos. And yes, that is a joggling board aka a courting board. Enjoy…
