Musings from the couple. We hope it is helpful to see how a day can unfold the way that best suits you.

THE DAY:

"My husband and I had a very intimate wedding in Charleston, SC at Middleton Place. We wanted the feel of an elopement ceremony in a beautiful location without having to travel very far to make that happen. Our colors were soft pastel colors like pink, cream and yellow. We were married by a close family friend who is also a Minister in the Church of England, and the only two guests in attendance were our mothers. Our ceremony was small while incorporating the traditional elements that are important to both of us. Our day was completely stress free and just about celebrating our love for one another as well as beginning of the next chapter in our life together. It felt very intimate and special. MCG photography was amazing because Corrie and James were so friendly and perfectly captured the intimacy and beautiful scenery on our wedding day."

THE LOOK:

“My (bride) look was very traditional as I always wanted a long gown that incorporated intricate lace and beading, as well as a long, flowing veil. My husband wore a black tuxedo with black, onyx Christian Dior cuff links and a ring that belonged to his father who passed away in 2016. I wore my grandmother's Tiffany diamond heart pendant that she wore on her wedding day at the Plaza Hotel in 1957. These personal touches were very meaningful as they allowed us to remember these family members who meant so much to each of us.”

SWEET TOUCH:

“My husband Edward surprised my mom and I by bringing us these amazing salads and champagne to drink while we had our hair and makeup done beforehand. It was just something small, simple and thoughtful so that he could make sure I wasn't hungry during our wedding ceremony. It was not the most special moment of our ceremony, but it was a small reminder of how generous and caring he is as a partner.”
