Kiawah Island - Family Portraits
Frequently asked questions… “May we do our large group and then break up into smaller family units, couples and kid solos.” The answer is Yes and this is an examples of what multiple groupings looks like. Sometimes they are pre-planned and sometimes it is just the flow of the session.
“Can we go straight to the beach?” … At the beach, we often try to get a group photo before we make our way ocean side just in case the wind is up. Wind, light direction and ladies hair is not always in alignment, so options are good. We also follow the light, so we end up at the water’s edge when during that sweet spot before sunset.
“Should shoes be part of our outfit at the beach?”… Unless your feet are super tough, we suggest wearing flip flops or sandals to the beach. Shoes that work with your outfit that you can kick off once in soft sand. Depending on the tide, we may also have you roll your pant legs up or be cool with them getting wet.
“Why bring a blanket to the beach?”… Have you ever seen babies eat sand? We have! We like to do seating groupings especially with little friends and a blanket makes that experience less sandy and safer. During summer 2020 we are asking clients to bring their own that works with their color palette. Other years, I have a handful of neutral tones blankets that we can bring.
