A fashion show of artisans from around the world and so much more. My cameras and I spent 2 days with the Ibu Movement for International Women’s Day 2023. It was 2 days of inspirations, feel good, fashion, relationships, learning, style and celebration artisan craft’woman’ship around the globe. The founder and CEO, Susan Hull-Walker is this whirlwind of warmth, support, verve, wisdom and a knack for bringing people together. She is also always moving…so it is hard to catch her in a frame. Over the 2 day period, the whole experience wove in meals, parties, lectures, book signing, fashion show and so many new friendships.
A welcome party for Ibu’s highlighted women artisan of the year. A chance of for artisan, allies and ambassadors to have intimate conversations in a space that embodied bringing cultures together and seeing the value in the handmade textiles in unique ways.
A mini photo-shoot with the artisans and ambassadors where I get to connect, amplify and capture the essence of change makers from different corners of the world.
A panel at the Charleston Library Society to hear the voices that are leading edge advocates for women in their spaces through their craft.
A gala at Festival Hall to awaken all of the senses prior to a fashion show bringing the artisans offerings into the light.
Enjoy a dive into the Ibu Movement.
