These two got engaged in Ireland and then moved their life stateside after living abroad respectively 8/10 years. While moving, car buying and home finding… they also planned their wedding with Engaging Events. Gratefully, they are the laid-back couple that lean into Joy. Their day had a range of style from relaxed elegance to all out dance party.
The brides’ family had a special connection to Kiawah. It is one of those places that you want to share with family and friends.
For ease, they rented a house next door to the Sandcastle which had plenty of room and natural light. The bride woo’ed us her Jenny Yoo gown. We met up with the guys in a green space for the first look and bridal party photos before walking to the Sandcastle. The ceremony was officiated seaside by a dear friend. During cocktail hour, we pulled the bride and groom down the boardwalk for a private moment and to immerse them in the beauty that is Kiawah. While we didn’t get a sunset that day, we soaked in the awe of subdued light that surrounded them.
The food was delicious. Duvall Catering had my taste buds at fried chicken pimento biscuits. The dance floor was packed and there might have been a few sing-a-longs. It was a good day!
