2014 Photography Highlights

Gathering a year of highlights reminds me of the Rent song ‘Seasons of Love’. In weddings, we witness new love, mature love, parental love, grandparents beaming at grand-children, kids innocently twirling on the dance floor and so many moments in between. We also get to do a tour of top Charleston wedding venues and beyond with excellent vendors that set the scene for love. For a play by play, check out the notes below or drop me a line.

Beginning with a Dunes West couple exchanging vows under an oak on the River with shades of sage, sparkle shoes and cupcakes. Shifting to a ceremony under a row of oaks and a tented celebration marsh side at Litchfield Plantation coordinated by Engaging Events. Highlights included bride in boots and a groom in sear-sucker. Next up is a first for us. Bonnie Donne Plantation for nupitals and reception which feels like stepping into a movie from another time. Popping over to the Governor Thomas Bennett House for a few bridal photos and then Daniel Island Club for their wedding day. Pink was their color and the even the flower girls glasses matched. Heading upstate to the Asheville area, we were introduced to Claxton Farm and Urban Farm Girl Flowers by a family where we have now photographed both their daughters special days. Next stops are to Middleton Place for a military and cake smashing love fest and then to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens for quiet and romance. Weekday, family ceremony with some rad ties and cool kicks at Middleton to a Pink’fest grand event complete with sparklers and carriage rides. Jumping to Kiawah for some ocean scenes at the Ocean Course and trees at Osprey. Heading to Mount Pleasant for a Seacoast ceremony with a bubble exit and Alahambra Hall reception. Back to Kiawah for a traditional tea ceremony and rocking reception at the River Course with awesome yellow accents. Next up, two pilots finding their way to one another at Legare Waring House. Road trip back to Litchfield Plantation for a Southern celebration with pops of orange. Two kiawah events are next. River Course ceremonies have that majestic slope to the river framed in by the trees and golf course. Followed by a family affair of 5 ringer bears or flag wavers at Osprey. Shifting gears to downtown Charleston. First Scots Presbyterian Church and South Carolina Society Hall make a great pair for a wedding ceremony and reception. Led by a bagpiper, the guests strolled between the two. Another downtown Charleston favorite are Patrick Properties spaces: Lowndes Grove and William Aiken House for engagement session and wedding respectively. Last stop is a little church on the bay side on Pawleys with and open air reception afterwards. Grateful for a full year and a work/travel companion that lets me nap in the car to each spot near and far.
