Gibbes : Art of Design 2021

The February 2021 luncheon presented by the Women’s Council managed to bring people together in person and from home safely during Covid. They held the event in an open air tent with minimized in person numbers, masks required except while eating, tables and chairs spaced out and food covered until eaten and those are just the ones I am aware of seeing. Documenting Charleston events where style drapes from the tent, printed materials by Banks Creative is an art in itself, florals burst from suitcases, food is artfully plated and uniquely gifted guest speakers is par for the course at the Art of Design Luncheon.

The Women’s Council brought Melissa Biggs Bradley of Indagare for the Gibbes Museum Art of Design luncheon. One of Indagare’s travel niches is art inspired travel. Bradley’s words described the Traveller’s mindset. She expanded on the knowing a place is created by the people you meet along the way. When asked where she would go when travel is wide open again, she replied with two places that pull her back again and again plus one (un-named) place she has never been. If your wanderlust is itchy and you need a dose of travel, check out her website and her virtual travel that was Covid inspired to keep us connected to our friends around the world.

At the conclusion of the event, they announced one lucky guest who won a trip through Indagare. You might guess who she is below by the beaming happy expression. All of this to say, I am the lucky lady that gets to document all this inspirational goodness. If fashion, design or great stories is your thing, keep your eyes open for this annual event:)
