Charleston Horse Photo Session

A grey mare and a bay gelding and their humans.

The Personalities:

Domino, the handsome bay, was ready-set-pose. Essentially, we just followed his cues and direction of ears perking. I think he practiced or checked out his reflection in the water trough before we arrived. He positioned himself to have his full mane showing the majority of the time. (if you believe these things, which I do).

Sercei, the grey, was much happier in the barn with her fans and freedom. The no-see-ums (ended up looking like glow fairies) found her fast near the tree line. She was a super-trooper and the treats may have sweetened the ask.

The Environment:

Selecting our backgrounds with the following in mind. Sunny day, back lit, open sky, dense treeline, light barn and light barn aisle.

Their stalls have a deep overhang which gave us some diffused horsey beauty light. The stall doors were a great height for framing them in while allowing them to be free of halters and bridles.
