Blogged : Cassidy & Trevor

Many thanks to PartySlate for a lovely and lively blog post of Cassidy and Trevor’s wedding day at Cassique on Kiawah Island.  If you enjoy blues, signage and lots of laughter, check this one out. There may be a work-out routine for super ambitious grooms that happen to have two ring bearers on hand.

In their words : “Trevor was subbing for his best friend, Todd, in a work volleyball league. Cassidy was in the same subdivision as Todd and assigned to the same volleyball team. The first game, Cassidy introduced herself to everyone and Trevor asked if she played volleyball in college. She replied yes, in fact she did play at Miami University. He basically called her a liar and insisted she did not play there as he was one of the coaches at Miami and didn't know her at all. Little did he know, she was younger and they missed each other by a year! Although she wasn't interested right away, towards the end of the season they became closer and starting flirting. Cassidy made the move by asking for his number to play beach volleyball that summer together and the rest is history. But what really sealed the deal, was Trevor's first trip to visit Kiawah with Cassidy 5 months into dating, when he fell in love with the island and shrimp and grits! The Proposal unfolded on a vacation to Europe in June of 2010. Cassidy planned a 3 week trip which included sailing in Greece, a villa in Tuscany, Italy and some time in Barcelona, Spain. Trevor, who had been ring shopping before the trip, seized the opportunity to propose as Cassidy's parents and sisters would be joining them for the week in Italy. He hurriedly got the ring bought and picked it up 2 hours before they left Chicago! Carrying the ring through multiple international airport security screenings caused Trevor to worry a bit but he made it with ring in hand all the way to Italy. Cassidy had been excited to spend a day trip hiking the 5 tiny, fishing villages of Cinque Terre on the northwest coast of Italy. She convinced the family to drive there to experience what she had heard from multiple people, that it was their favorite spot in Europe.”
