Art Charleston 2023 : Gibbes Museum Rocked It

If you are museum resistant, I encourage you to visit the Gibbes Museum during the week of Art Charleston. You might have a shift in perspective. While the museum always has something going on that sparks my interest…Art Charleston is supersized, something for everyone, your senses will be tickled and you will be inspired…kids, foodies, music lovers, design aficionado, pre-parties, dates, friends, local artisans and most especially Art Lovers. This is our highlight reel from 2023 Art Charleston. All these events took place within 6 days. The 2024 schedule is posted on the Gibbes website.

Day 1 - Art of Design Sponsor cocktail party

Day 2 - Art of Design Luncheon tented in the Gibbes Museum Garden. Guest speaker Talent Agency Exec Arthur Lewis best known for as a bridge between the worlds of entertainment and fine art. Food art by Salthouse Catering and paper design by Banks Creative.

Day 3 - Visting Artist Workshops, forums and museum tours. Street Party come rain or shine. How cool is it that this version is the rain back-up plan. Exhibition opening for artist Beverly McIver.

Day 4 - Grammy Award winning musical ensemble Ranky Tanky featuring the powerhouse Quiana Parler close up and personal performance.

Day 5 - Gibbes guests are welcomed into Beeple Studios for a surround sound/visual experience in the 50,000 sq. foot studio. Beeple aka Mike Winkelmann, an American graphic designer and world-renowned digital artist.

Day 6 - Local artisan fair. Come meet the artist and find your new favorite piece of expression.
