During the summer we slip away to WA to visit family. It is a cool breeze in the midst of our August in Charleston. Below are some shots from our family picnic in Point Defiance, Tacoma, Washington State.
-Oyster Roast around community tables
-River with dock for a stroll
-BBQ for all
-Ice cream with lots of toppings
-Slideshow of their lives merging
-Roasts and toasts from friends and family
-Releasing heart-shaped Chinese lanterns into the sky
During our ReInvented Engagement Party Shoot with Tiger Lily’s Lindsey Shanks, we were re-introduced to another Charleston heat solution. King of Pops brings the light, cool touch of childhood to an engagement party, rehearsal dinner or wedding reception. Depending on the season; King of Pops features Arnold Palmers, Chocolate Sea Salt, Watermelon Mojito, Raspberry Lime and many more popsicles to delight the taste buds.
Late night nibbles such as sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches, fries and cookies with milk have been a crowd pleaser during receptions over the years. And food trucks make late night snacks even better. Diggity Doughnuts truck parked it’s wheels outside the Thomas Bennett House to provide sweet flavors of the couples’ choice. They were a hit!
For more information on local food trucks, please visit The Charleston Food Truck Federation.
Wedding coordinated by Premier Events.
The Gibbes and additional sponsors brought Sound & Vision: Monumental Rock & Roll Photography along with guest curator Chris Murray to Charleston. As an extra treat, Donovan, folk-rock-pop troubadour and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee joined the ‘after’ celebration and shared an impromptu sing along. The good eats came from the kitchens of Oak Steakhouse and O’Ku. Excellent celebration of art and music!
