French Kiss River Course Wedding, Kiawah Island

River Course Wedding Sunset Photography

Words and thoughts from the couple. We love knowing the nuances behind the merry moments.

The Start: We were both overseas in UAE for work. Wolfhilde was working for Shangri-La, a luxury hotel that offered furnished apartment and Zach was looking for a place to stay. They connected instantly and after signing Zach's apartment, he brought his colleagues and slowly became Wolf's most active client! From "best client" he became her "best friend".

The Day: As the space from the River Course on Kiawah Island is already beautiful by itself. The ceremony looked like our relationship : full of fun and laughs. I decided to walk down the aisle by myself and felt like I didn't need anyone to "give me" or "guide me" to the man I love. I was a bit nervous about it (mostly about tripping on the way) but it was a very empowering moment walking to "Now We Are Free" performed by 2CELLOS, the music from Gladiator.

Our flowers were mostly white garden roses, eucalyptus and olive branch. Being a French bride : we HAD to have Champagne throughout the wedding and incorporated olive oil bottles as wedding favors and french music to the playlist. We had white linen table and flower decoration made of white roses, stock, white hydrangea and accents of greenery, along with candle votives. We had 2 tables with "entertainment" that were DIY:- Polaroid scrapbook with a special backdrop - A "date jar idea". The band was amazing and we had a lot of fun dancing through the night!

The Details:

Bridesmaid gifts : 7 diamonds removed from Wolfhilde’s wedding band and made rings for each of her bridesmaids. As bridesmaids, their role is to be the "witness" and now the guardians of the couples love.

Groomsman gifts : Let's not forget that Zach is kind of a James Bond. On top of the usual gifts (whiskey bottle, cigar and cigar holder, etc) Zach's groomsman had bottle opener in the shape of a bullet, shot glass with a bullet inside and were given a lock pick set. The groomsman had to pick the lock to open the box containing the gifts.

Wedding Gown: I choose a Grace Kelly inspired ball gown from Allure Bridal. The mikado gown has a deep V-neckline complete with a stunning illusion back in lace appliques. A long train and silk back buttons made it very elegant. I also love the fact that my dress had pockets! One of my bridesmaid made my cathedral long veil. It was a beautiful moment to share between friends. She was also the one who pin it to my hair on the W-day.

Groom Style: Zach one request was a white James Bond style tuxedo. His Boutonniere was made with Olive branch. As a wedding gift, Wolfhilde gave him engraved white gold cufflinks with his initials.

Best Wedding Tip: Advice that was shared to me on the morning of the wedding : Take time off during the wedding to appreciate your surroundings. Take a few minutes to be with your husband alone and appreciate the moment. I am really glad that our photographer had a "sundown shooting" with us after the dinner : this allowed us to spend some time together (and laugh as always).
