Folly Beach : lifestyle and portraits

Lifestyle portraits, classic portraits and candid portraits all have their own superpowers. We try to get a little of each to capture not only what you look like in that moment, but also the interactions and relationships that happen in between.

These three could write a book on how to be present and engage each other. They jumped, they climbed, they hugged, they walked, they ran, they held hands, they laughed, they smiled. They were a Yes And family. Boy parents through and through!

Our location is the lighthouse side of Folly which has become more popular since the show The Outerbanks became a hit. We like to clarify that while we can see it from Folly, you can only access the lighthouse by boat. The walk from the north-end parking area on Folly Beach to the Morris Island Lighthouse viewing point is an 0.8-mile out-and-back trail (or a 1.3-mile loop if you return via the beach). It is a longer walk than most access points to the beach, but it has some extra special elements : driftwood, wood retaining walls, retaining rock bolders and an abundance of lowcountry grasses. The variety of textures spices up a traditional beach session.
