Feeling Fall

“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”― Jim Bishop

When - In Charleston, we have lots of warm days and humid hot days. So cool, fall portraits make us a giddy. Sweaters, vest, boots and make for excellent photos. This is a great example of our family tree session. Focusing on the whole, individual units, different generations and of course the smile makers, kiddos.

Where - Waterfront park in downtown Charleston is a hip and happening in place for portraits. Between the brick paths lined with trees oriented just right for a backlit sunset portrait, the fountains and the sides streets that each have their own signature charm; it is photo-gold. Within a few blocks there is enough variety and open spaces to capture a Southern vibe without driving from spot to spot.

Clothing - While we often suggest allowing the little to have pops of color to stand out from the adults, these guys had the grands wear the bolder colors. It worked out really well to then surround them in neutrals.

Combinations - Their priority was the whole group, individual family units, couples, kids together and kiddo solos. We were able to flow organically through our hope list and give the kids a smile break while we gave the couples some snuggle time.
