Celebration at the Porter Room
The Porter Room at Holy City Brewery in North Charleston is a Lowcountry gem of a venue. Backdrops of the marsh and grand oaks set the stage. The Room is made to be an indoor/outdoor experience with scenic views. It has a getting ready area upstairs so the ladies can see the set-up in real time while drinking champagne.
This local couple was dialed into the feel and vibe of their celebration…. “something simple and easy where everyone was comfortable to enjoy themselves. Neutral palette with hints of green due to the wedding being outdoors with a marsh back ground and the hope that guests would say the overall theme was Fun. The band was a big deal for us so to see everyone really enjoying the music meant a lot to us.” There was lots of fun, lots of laughter, lots of play, lots of food, lots of beverages and tons of love.
Their photography shot-list was candid focused with a few crafted groups here and there with a highlight of “taking pictures with our sweet dogs, even though they were a handful.” Between the twirling flower girls and the fur family, our cameras had an abundance of cuteness overload. Peper Events kept the energy moving for a seamless day while Midnight City Band kept the dance floor full all night.
The Dress Report: “I wanted a dress that I could be comfortable in but that also looked bridal. The beaded bodice was not something I would have expected of myself but paired with a flowy skirt, it felt perfect. I went back and forth on the veil even up to about 30 minutes before the ceremony but my best friends talked me into it and I'm so glad they did. I will never get to wear one again and it was perfect.”
Memorable Moments: “Of course the ceremony was wonderful and special but I think dancing with my dad meant so much more to me than I thought it would. He was tearing up which is not something he would normally do so of course, that made me tear up. It felt so meaningful and I'm so grateful for that moment.”
The bride was kind of enough to answer some questions for me hence the “quotes”. Bonus is that you get to see the couple’ vision match their hopes and their day!
