Citadel Beach House - Tessa and Jack

From bride and groom : Our mission was twofold. First, get married and have our wedding day and ceremony be one that reflected the deep commitment. Second, have all of our friends and family become friends. Our goal was to celebrate all the people we love who have supported us through many chapters and to have a weekend filled with joy, laughter, and opportunities for people to connect.

Saturday was a picture-perfect Isle of Palms day. The bridesmaids got ready at my parents’ house in a day that featured Froze, cuddles with the dog, and an impromptu dance party (we actually had time to spare getting ready!). Meanwhile, the groomsmen had a Spikeball tournament on the beach and a bourbon toast while getting ready at Wild Dunes.

Everything was absolutely perfect, but some highlights include:

• Our very talented friends singing Humble & Kind during the ceremony (a tear jerker!)

• Professions of love by the bride and groom (a tear jerker for us!)

• Seeing all of our friends and family meet new people and make friends and the table assignments we made (we sat people by who we thought they should be friends with -not who they already knew)

• The dance floor - Travis and his band were a hit and they didn't even take a break!

• Singing Wagon Wheel & Country Roads with all our guests to end the evening with a golf cart exit

We were so excited about the overall vibe of the wedding – the ceremony was personal and meaningful, and the entire weekend was upbeat, high-energy, and a ton of fun!

Advice from a happy couple :

1. If you are hiring a wedding planner, make sure you pick someone who gets you, your fiancé, and what you care about . I’m continually grateful that Cindy understood the wedding weekend we were trying to build and that I could trust her help craft our decisions to get to that ultimate vision.

2. Figure out what you actually care about. It is very easy toget distracted and stressed about the little details or worry that you need to splurge on each piece of the wedding. If you remember what you really care about, it is easy to keep your budget and your sanity!

3. Give yourself grace – your wedding day will ending up being an incredible day (bumps – those make the best stories!). Trust yourself, don’t take on too much alone, get your partner to help you from the start, and takesome deep breaths and self-care along the way.
